One of my clients told me about this web site today. I was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and as a result lost my long blond hair. I had so much trouble trying to find the right place to go for a wig and so many embarrassments that I decided to set up my own Company Wig-Wham!I now have three studios in Stafford, Sutton Coldfield and Worcester. We all have experience of hair loss, the studios are private and discreet with loads of choice! I still wear my wig although my hair has grown back. It's much easier, no more blow drying, curl-tonging and straightening.I am desperately trying to rid the country of the "stigma" of wearing wigs so that we can help everyone out there with the misfortune to lose their hair.
Please pass on - we can be found in Yellow Pages and Yell.Com.
Thanks

Try posting on the treatments bit as ladies there may be going though chemo and appreciate hearing this.

I had chemotherapy early this year. A fellow breast cancer patient called Iris, in hospital with me, had chemo before her op and used the ice cap during treatment. I met her after it was all finished and she had a good head of hair. She told me it does hurt at first, but it's worth it if you want a chance to keep you own hair. When my turn came for chemo I asked for the ice cap - and Iris was right - it does hurt for the first 3-4 minutes (out of 40 mins.), but I perservered with Iris's words in my head saying "bear with it, it's worth it". My hair did get thinner, but certainly not enough to warrant the wig I'd had reserved. Within weeks of the end of treatment my hair started to thicken up again. I'm really glad I continued (for the whole treatment period) and would recommend anyone to try.

Easy to recognise you!
For info...I would have had the cold cap but onc gave impression no good for me, can't remeber the reason he gave.
I feel I have got a hair style that really suits me, colour etc and am dead chuffed with it. Have tried to have this kind of style before but could never blow dry to look this good. Cheers! My hairdresser thinks it's brilliant too, she didn't seem to mind that she's lost a customer for a while. As u know I didn't even bother going elswhere as so impressed with your personal, professional and private service (just put grovel cheque in post, Ha! only kidding).
I look forward to reading Xmas edition of Best magazine about you and your business.
At this moment in time I'm not feeling too bad after chemo yesterday, new tabs working better. Still feel rough though, but must be feeling better, as last time took me a week or so to start reading etc on this site. Hope you're ok. Best wishes Michelle xx.
