Painful Joints

Hi everyone
I am halfway through my treatment. Just finished epirubicin and about to start CMF. Over recent weeks I have experienced painful knees, which are now "clicking" and the right knee has started to "give" at times.
Someone told me that it is likely to be the effects of the chemo but , just occasionally, the old cancer paranoia sets in and I imagine the worst. Anyone else have painful, stiff joints or similar???
Many Thanks
Ally

Me too, I've just finished the epirubicin part of my chemo, starting the paclitaxel bit next week, and I'm having joint pains in my legs in particular, the hips and knees. I think it is chemo aches and pains, as it doesn't happen all the time, just when I'm tired.

Hi Ally, Like you, I had very painful knees during treatment and put up with it until the day when I could not walk upstairs. My G.P put me on a pain relief and within 48 hours I went from being disabled to being pain free. Good luck and best wishes, Lynneveln.

Yes, me too!

Hi Ally,
Just to let you know you are not alone here, there are lots of references on this site regarding painful joints. My own experience has been excruciating pain in my shoulder which has now eased but I have been having terrible trouble with both knees, left being worse than right. Really troublesome at bedtime and I often wake up with my hips aching too. Recently saw a consultant who was first one who acknowledged would be sudden loss of oest due to chemo and recommended Omega 3 as I was already taking glucosimine. My oncologist who is very cold fish merely x-rayed and then sent me for bone scan. You should get it checked out but highly likely it is not anything more sinister. Get back to me if I can help with anything else.

Of those listed occasionally one of my legs would give way and I's stumble...but nowt serious, ask onc/bc nurse etc.
