I am afraid that due to staff sickness we have slipped behind schedule in getting the profiles restored. I will post again towards the end of next week with more news on this, but we have made considerable progress and it shouldn't be too much longer.
I am very sorry about this delay as I know many of you are missing the profiles.
Hey lets face it Ann if anyone can be understanding of 'sickness' its us poor 'sods' hope all the staff are soon back to full health and thanks for letting us know. special mention for Tara. I am on the phone support for 8 weeks and missed her tonight. it has been a great help to me. BCC is a unique site.
I would love to see the profiles back soon. It makes it harder to reply and give appropriate advice when you are not aware of what the person has been through, whether they are er+ her2+ if they have primary, secondaries etc. I've resorted to going into search and reading previous postings before I reply to anyone.
I really miss the profiles. They seem to have been away for a very long time. Perhaps it could be made a priority in light of the length of time we have been waiting. Thanks.
It is now February. What on earth is happening about the profiles? We are continually fobbed off with vague statements and promises. It really is about time a positive action took place.
Yes when will there be profiles. I like to know as much as possible so when you say there are problems I'd understand more if you could give a brief explanation asto why you are having problems. Your replies are always the same.I hope this post doesn,t sound critical I don't mean it to. I just wonder what problems you are having love to all at bcc Eileen
I understand your frustrations regarding the return of the profiles.
I am aware that they were nearly ready for re-introduction but they then failed testing and there were further technical problems. These are being worked through at the moment.
I will ask the technical team for an update on Monday and we will report back with developments.
I am very sorry to tell you this but when we tested a version of the profiles on the site it didn't work. We are currently recruiting a programmer and sorting this out will definitely be his/her first task.
I really hope the old style profiles can soon be reinstated. While the thread started in Current issues is OK up to a point once it gets long it will be hard to find the people you want to. What was so good about the old profiles was being able to clink a link before replying to a post...once you had a sense of what stage the poster was at.
I completely agree with Jane, I miss the old profiles too and being able to click on and get some background to the poster, in the abscence [ still ] of the original profiles, would it be possible to add the thread on current issues [ OUR PROFILES WRITTEN BY US ]into the list of categories, that way we could all [ all those who wish to ] add our profiles as individual threads...the title of the thread being our name./username........just an idea.

Getting a bit fed up at the time it takes to do things on here. Also I dont want my old profile back as it will be history and had a pic of me with hardly any hair. Will we be asked to write another one? as i am sure we would now write a different profile than the one we had..
Until fairly recently I used to try and find out more (..er+ or not, treatments etc..) about someone before I replied to a post using the advanced search option but this doesn't seem to work anymore..? You used to be able to get the person's posts in one block without trawling through pages and pages.
