Hi i am booked in for double mastectomy on weds with immediate recon also with back muscle and implant. I think some consultants will do it straight away and some put the muscle in place and wait to see if further treatment is needed before putting in implant. Dont know if this is going to happen to me as i dont see onc until tues and op on weds.

i was dx with lcis in feb and was offered double then but they said that it might never turn to cancer but unfortunately it has and as it can occur in both breasts decided it was best to go for it. Mine is ivasive lobular cancer and although none is showing in the left breast i have 2 in the right.
    Hope this helps

hi dont know all the abbreviations new to me i have invasive duct in one nothing showed on mamogram had core biopsy and found out grom that. next had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. lymph glands clear but two moe spots in safety zone so now suggests masectomy. i am going to have mri scan on other one as i want to make sure but i have doubts as everything they done to b on safe side hasturned out bad. he says can do reconstruction at same time.
