    Hi,

We are using a different forum software on the new website. It is called phpBB and has a lot more functionalities. And yes the more recent post will appear at the top.

    Thanks,

    Bertie

    Hi all,

The new Breast Cancer Care website is ready!

We've completed the development and tested the migration of all existing messages and accounts.

We didn't want to launch during the Christmas period so we will launch the new site in January 2009.

I wanted to share with you the layout of the new pages.

This is what the front page of the community section will look like. Please bear in mind that all the content on these pages is dummy for testing purposes.

Our forums are using phpBB so some of you will be familiar with the way it works. The forums are fully integrated with the new site with links to relevant Breast Cancer Care clinical content on the left hand panel.

This is what a post will look like:

You asked us for a better private messaging system. Each forum member will have their own message box to send and receive private messages from other forum members:

The messaging system is similar to many web based email services. You can send a message to one or more contacts.

Your profile will have different fields which you can make public (visible to all registered users), contacts only (visible to members you added in your contacts list) or private:

Here is an example of a profile (you can add a photo if you wish). Note that you can also save discussions and bookmark pages from throughout the website:

It has been a very busy year for the team who worked really hard to get this site up and running and I would like to thank you all for your patience.

I will let you know the official launch date early in the New Year.

    Thank you,

    Bertie
