when will they confirm diagnosis? Sorry people, posting my rant for the week....

Having had FNAC and then a core biopsy - and waiting 3 weeks fort he consultant ot see me - I have still not had confirmation on what this lump is!

    I\'ve been told \"it looks like\", or \"we think its...\" (phyllodes tumour)

Surely the core biopsy would have been enough to tell?

I am really frustrated now, as surgery is 5/9 and I still dont have a clue what i am dealing with here...like its not stressful enough?!!

Surely these things are a \"yes\" or a \"no\" .... or is this my consultant being a pain in the bum?

core biopsies Unfortunately some lumps cannot be definately diagnosed until they are removed as they dont always get enough cells in the sample .
The consultant you are under will have a fair idea of what is going on and is renowned for being quite blunt at times as he usually tells it like it is.
The waiting is the hardest part but you will soon have a definate answer . Good luck

Phyllodes - how fast is fast when you\'re talking growth of I had my tumour removed yesterday under general. I am still feeling ropey, but even more narked that i dont know what the tumour was... I have previously been advised its a 3/4 because of teh active levels of division present but that really didn\'t mean anything to me!!!

    Does growth mean its malignant?

The tumour was 1.5wide cm x 1cmtall x 1.3cm deep weeks back when the core biopsy was done, but at the pre-op ultrasuond scan yestersay it was 2.4cm wide x 1.8 cm tall x 1.5 cm deep.

What does this actually mean? Does having this condition make your mind go a bit fluffy?!!!

I have my next appointment with my consultant -at- MA next Thursday - both they LOVE to keep yuo hanging on doent they???!!!
