A diagnosis tells you the name of the condition you have

This may be a benign condition, an early breast cancer, (also known as primary breast cancer) or secondary breast cancer; this is an advanced form of cancer, meaning the disease has spread to other parts of the body.

Understanding what you have been diagnosed with is very important. It influences the treatment choices you will be given, and can affect many life choices you make from now on.

The following sections talk about different diagnosis; they explain the terms used and what they mean.

Breast Cancer Voice, Kate Hinds, talks about being diagnosed with breast cancer.
