Prescription for change
Prescription for changeThe Prescription for change campaign, launched in 2006, called for all cancer patients in the UK to be exempt from prescription charges.
We would like to thank you for supporting this campaign. Many of you wrote to your elected representatives to highlight this injustice and the politicians listened – it shows that campaigning counts!
Keep our breast care nurses
Between April and October 2011 we asked visitors to the Breast Cancer Care campaigning website pages to sign a petition calling for the government to keep our breast care nurses and show their support for this important role. We also asked healthcare professionals to tell us of any changes to breast care nursing posts. We continue to highlight this issue in our meetings with decision-makers and will share the more detailed evidence gathered here with them.
EMPLOY
EmployAre you an employee or an employer?
Do you know about breast cancer, employment and the law?
Breast Cancer Care launched the EMPLOY Charter across the UK in May, June and July 2008. If you would like more information on how to help us disseminate the EMPLOY Charter, please telephone the Policy and Campaigns team on 020 7960 3569.
The results of our Breast Cancer in England Survey
- 60 per cent had 'too little' information on finance and employment.
- 53 per cent had ‘too little’ information on awareness of lymphoedema.
- 34 per cent said that their care was ‘never’, ‘rarely’ or ‘sometimes’ provided by a communicative and coordinated team.
