Fundraising volunteering
In this difficult financial climate we need even more hands on deck to help us raise money to support our services for people affected by breast cancer. There are so many ways to help us do this.
One of our main ambitions is to set up a network of local fundraising groups across the country.
We need people who can offer a few hours a month to set up a group of friends, family members or colleagues. If you want to help make this happen, you’ll organise events, generate stories in your local newspapers, and help us spread the word in your community about how we can help. No experience is needed; all we ask for is enthusiasm and a passion for supporting people affected by breast cancer, and we’ll help you all the way.
Not only is being in a fundraising group rewarding, it’s a great way to get involved in your community, make new friends and strengthen bonds with old friends through a shared sense of purpose and achievement. Groups are incredibly important to our work; as well as raising thousands of pounds, they help spread the word about how we help people affected by breast cancer.
'I was already volunteering for Breast Cancer Care's services team, and in July last year our group came together after we were introduced by Jay from our local fundraising team. Our latest project is a Ritz-style high tea event for 120 people, and we’ve set ourselves a fundraising target of £3,000.
'We love meeting up, debating and planning our fundraisers. We laugh so much, but on the other hand we’re also very serious about the quality of our events, and making money of course! We all get very excited when we have good news, for example when one of our group’s contacts agreed to sponsor our high tea.'

We also need people to shake collection tins, accept cheques on our behalf and help us at our fundraising events like our Pink Ribbonwalks and fashion shows. We need your enthusiasm and willingness to help people with breast cancer. You don’t need to have a personal experience of breast cancer to help.
