i have been in touch with breast care nurse today, describing my symptoms, after recurrence in july, she tells me the earliest appointment i can have is 20th dec, despite the onc telling me on my last visit that if i had any concerns, i didnt need to wait to see him at the clinic, that he would see me anytime.....my current symptoms are quite severe, and i really need to see someone sooner...am i being unreasonable?

If you are worried of course you want to se your onc ASAP. If your onc told you you wouldn't have to wait then I think you are not being unreasonable. Perhaps you could ring your onc secretary and explain the situation and maybe get your onc to talk ring you to give you some reassurance?
Best wishes,
Julie
No, you're not being unreasonable. When I've had a niggle in the past I've emailed onc's secretary and she has passed message on to onc who has seen me within a week. I agree with Julie - try to contact onc's secretary.

i tried to contact his secretary yesterday, but she was unavailable, so am going to try again today, in the meantime, i have been to see gp, who has given me pain relief, and will fax onc today, so i will see what happens....thanks for the support xx
well, just an update, i have been in touch with onc secretary, and i have an appointment for tomorrow, and a chest and back xray on friday, so i feel much better now i know that the wheels are in motion
WELL DONE JUSME!!!! Sometimes it really is just a matter of asking. The bcn you spoke to was probably doing the right thing but in view of what your onc had said to you, you were right to pursue this. It really is frustrating when you get a 'jobsworth' telling you that is the best they can do for you. We are so vulnerable when we are feeling rough and scared and it is so hard to push for what we want. Hope all goes well tomorrow, and for the xrays on friday.
