Another Milestone

Hi Ladies
Just wanted to post on the milestones site as I am now 3 years post op for DCIS with 3 operations and then rad treatment.
I finally had the results of my second annual mammogram this week and its all clear. I had to wait 3 weeks for the results and even though I knew that if I hadn't heard after 5 days I was probably alright the stress waiting to hear was dreadful. In the end I phoned my Mac nurse as I couldn't bear not knowing.
But at last I now know that I'm well and can look forward to another wonderful year free from the worry of BC. I know that in the deep dark recess of my mind BC never goes away but I can now put it in a very small box tape the box lid down and put it away for another year.
Take heart all of you still on that long road to recovery, keep being strong - more and more of us are surviving this disease and you can do it too.
