Hi kate131,
I'm not stage 4, but I am Irish (Co Antrim). Just bumping the thread for you.

Hi Kate131
I live in Co. Antrim and was diagnosed with stage 4 May 2010 (primary diagnosis April 2007). We seem to be very few and far between on this island. I've only come across a couple of other stage 4 people.
Where do you live and where are you being treated? My treatment is at Belfast City Hospital. It would be great to compare treatment with someone else.

Hi!
I'm being treated in Dublin. I was originally diagnosed at the start of May and diagnosed with Liver mets 2 weeks later.
I started AC chemo last Monday. So far I havent had too many side effects but I suppose time will tell..
Hi Ladies,
I have stage IV with liver mets and live in Slane in Meath with treatment in Dublin, I was diagnosed in July 2010 with the mets diagnosed a couple of weeks later after liver biopsy etc...i had 8 rounds of taxol and avastin and finished my chemo in febuary. since then i have been on Tamoxifen and zoladex injections. i had weekly chemo which put me out of action for a couple of days each week but luckily i didnt have too many side effects....i found that changing my diet played an important part in keeping my body strong during that time...im happy to share more about this if you're interested...
anyway back to my sceal...since my chemo finished in February I get blood taken every 6 weeks and CT scan every 3 months and each time my tumors have reduced, my last scan showed my breast tumor had gone and my liver ones were continuing to shrink. the last time I visited my onc he basically told me to keep doing what I was doing as it was working and that I only need to come back for my zoladex injection every 3 months and he would schedule my scans around my injections...i have my next scan this Friday and get the results the following Friday.
anyway enough about me...how are you ladies doing with your treatment so far??
Hi there girls
I live in Belfast and attend the city hospital.
I too am stage 4 was diagnosed in Jan this year had lumpectomy in feb then mastectomy in march. I was then diagnosed with bone mets in May - great ! I've recently received results of various scans and all appears stable.
Will be scanned on a 3 monthly basis to begin with.
I'm finding this all very difficult still can't believe its happening even after 9 months of brutal treatment !
Hi Kate,
I am Stage IV and Irish too. I have extensive lymph node and bone marrow involvement. I also had spinal chemotherapy recently for mets to spinal fluid which seems to have worked but due to progression in bone marrow due to start new chemo next wk. I am from Tipperary.
