Hi I am from Hertford and love to meet up with people locally, however, I am fortunate that mine is a primary dx.
Where are you?
SJ x
Hello there
Just diagnosed with secondaries last week, so in the same boat as you Mrs B. I am in Bedford. I know it is further away, but happy to travel for a meet up. SJ, I think the issues are often similar whether primary or secondary. Hope all goes smoothly for you both in 2011.
Next week is the start of a pile of investigations for me, so it is good to communicate anyway...
Jo
Yep Tara mine starts next week so yes it would be good to share experiences....
Bedford isnt too far away as im close to the bucks/bed/herts border..Chesham. Do you know it?
SJ youre more than welcome to join in
Hey you two
Yes I do know Chesham.
Ok so I'm not sure how we sort out private messages on this site! Any suggestions? I'm a bit uncertain about availability as I have load of investigations this week. Where are you based SJ?
Jo/Tara (I answer to either!)
Oops sorry. Just realised, SJ, you said you are in Hertford. It seems from Google maps that we are in a sort of triangle. Either we could meet somewhere in St Albans, for example, where we are equidistant, or maybe come to Chesham as you were the one who started this, Mrs B!
Jo
Hi
Would be happier with St Albans at the moment, as I still have issues with post-op problems, and driving too far is very painful atm. Would completely understand if you two want to meet up nearer to each other.
However, I have FEC3 on Friday, so next week is a bit iffy to be honest, so might muck up your schedules.
Perhaps, you two should meet in the meantime, convenient to both of you, and I'll join in when I can.
SJ
Hi
I would like to get in touch with local ladies - I am in xxx. Have been toying with the idea of posting to find ladies locally, but you beat me to it!
Am just finishing treatment for primary with lymphe involvement at Mount Vernon at the end of this month. Whilst I am not sure I would be ready to discuss secondary at the moment face to face, I would be happy to email and consider meeting at a later stage?
We're all in this together and to be able to have a coffee with someone 'down the road' who understands is a very comforting thought!
Nikki
Hi,
Just saw the post about a possible meet in St Albans which is very close to me (I live in Watford). I finished rads
at Mount Vernon in Dec for primary bc with a high lymph node involvement.
Would like to meet up with others.
Gill
Hello again
This is shaping up as a group. That is great. Hello to Nikki and Gill. My first opportunity to meet would be sometime next week. But any arrangement provisional, as waiting for appointments to come in. I hope we can all support each other, whatever we are going through. In my experience it is just a relief not to have to deal with the perceptions of people who haven't experienced breast cancer. Doesn't mean we can't talk about other things!!
How's everyone else fixed? And I must sort out how to do personal messages on this site...
Jo
Hi
Personal messages: click on the underlined contact name and then you get the option to send a message to this person. Or at least, that's what I did earlier this afternoon.
Agree that talking to women who've been through it, is just so much easier.
Nikki
I am on the Beds/ Bucks border so within your area. Can't do Fridays but most other days ok. I have primary dx but we are all in this together. Who knows what is round the corner. My dx has taught me that.

Hello Everyone!
The group is growing nicely
I'm also at Mount Vernon and may have been sitting next to some of you and not knowing it! I happy to either meet up or just emails. My only concern at the moment is radio is affecting my leg at the mo so I'll have to play it by ear on the driving front.
Oh sorry Jo but I just saw Tara8 and assumed!
Hope to speak soon
Sam
I live in London, but am having treatment at High Wycombe, Bucks (long story!). January is out for me as I have guests arriving, but would love to meet some local-ish peeps. I stay in Beaconsfield when I am having treatment / appointments.
Hope to meet / chat soon.
Best wishes to all of you.
Alison x
Welcome Alison
I've had treatment at Wycombe.. lovely people there - but a pain for you!! Who's your Oncologist?
Beaconsfield isn't far at all
Take care
Sam
Hi Alison I had my two lots of surgery last January in High Wycombe. Went all round the county and beyond with treatment as chemo in Aylesbury, rads in Oxford and scan in Amersham! Pam x
Hey Petal
You must be pretty close to me then...
oops I meant to say Pam not Petal!
Ladies who fancies using IM to chat sometime...might be easier... just a thought..
If you want to then just private message me your IM address
Sam
Yes not far live near Leighton Buzzard.
Hello you all
How good to feel that you are there somewhere not too far away. I make it 6 of us so far. As you can see by the time of this post I am wide awake and needing distraction.
Re meeting up - Shall we just go for a time and place and whoever can make it make it? Then let's hope we gradually all meet at some point. And of course keep in touch through this.
Isotope bone scan today for me...
Jo
Hello, sounds like a plan - going for time and place and seeing who can make it!
Gill x
Sounds good to me!
Hope I can make it
SJ xx

Not too late at all tillycat! Welcome aboard!
Hey everyone and welcome tillycat. Nikki is doing some research re venue and the plan is to circulate suggested venue and dates through private messages. So hold your horses... it will happen. Just takes a bit of organising.
Hope the meeting went well today for you SJ. I am wondering how much time I will need off work to get through the chemo. I know it is different for everyone, but any advice would be handy. My boss is being brilliant, but I work for a small company and they need to make plans for my absence.
This is like consulting an oracle. It's great!

Hi Jackie and welcome!
I think we just hit the magic number 10. Not bad in less than a week. Thanks again to Sam for the inspired start on new year's eve!
