I am moving to N Manchester general hospital for my follow up checks (had surgery, chemotherapy and rads elsewhere) - has anyone been treated there and what did you think?

Hi Starflower
I had my surgery at North Mcr, chemo & rads at the Christie and now have all my follow-ups (including the onc from the Christie) at North Mcr.
No problems at all so far and have been really happy with the treatment etc. Can't fault them.
Best wishes
Mal
Thanks, that's really good to know, are the BCNs good?
Just wanted to say I have now been to N Manchester and found them to be about 800% better than Oldham, I am very glad I made the change.
Hi Starflower
Sorry I missed your post 12th May but glad you're happy with North Man. Initially I was given the choice between Oldham and North Man but avoided Oldham after my dad had a bad experience there.
I find the BCNs really helpful and on the ball and I have 100% confidence in the whole team, which I think is really important.
Hope all goes well.

Hi. i can second that, i had op at north and chemo at chrisite, now back to north for follow up.
I am also an x employee of north and I choose to return to them as I knew the good repuation of the surgeons and the whole breast care team.
you will be well looked after xx
me too, they've been great - i had a really bad time at fairfield at initial diagnosis but luckily was transferred to NMGH for surgery. My surgeon bent over backwards to get my op done ASAP and was fab. BCNs always return calls within a day. And the lovely nurse who does US is fab, though sick of the sight of me i expect as i've been back 3 times to have seroma drained!.
fantastic team.
I too had a bad time at fairfield, a 2 second feel and was told "there is absolutely nothing wrong with you", thank God I kicked up a fuss and insisted on a scan, 3 weeks later invasive lobular tumour found. I feel much more confident at N Manc.
I know this post is a bit late in the day, but I too had/have my surgery and follow up appts. at NMGH. I can't complain, the whole team is brill.
can i ask what was the problem at oldham as i might be transferred there ??? am worriede now as i had previous good reports of it
I' m under Oldham and have found the Victoria unit really good. My friend who is a Christies consultant pointed me in old hams direction when I first found the lump.
Hi
I am also under Oldham and the treatment i have had and the care i have received has been excellent. The Victoria Unit is great and Brian and Jane on the chemo ward are lovely. Good luck might bump into you there.
