Is anyone nearby Shropshire?
HI,just thought i would start this new post as alot of posts i read there are alot of people from the same area, Im from Shropshire on the border of Cheshire and Wales. I live 20 miles from Chester and 20 miles from Shrewsbury. Had a WLE and node clearance, awaiting all clear to go back to work once can drive again plus have CT scan booked 16 Feb. I have grade 3 cancer and told no further surgery needed but do need the Scan plus Chemo and Rads. cant take it all in and i feel like some time off from this but know its not possible for that. Have been told coped very well but energy running out fast, how do i carry on coping with the unknown, feel like my body been invaded and though anyone conscious of health can eat better etc to change things, how can i now, the cancer has hit me how can i prevent it spreading or coming back. xxxxShar xxx

Yes-I am from Shropshire[between Whitchurch and Shrewsbury].A few of us meet up for lunch sometimes and if you would like to get together sometime or would like to talk just pm me and we can get in touch
my bc was grade2 triple negative and I had WLe,chemo and rads.I was dx October 2006 so things dont look as bleak as they did :)Where are you being treated?I had my op in Telford and chemo/rads at RSH.
Good Luck
Valx
Hi
I am from Telford and had my lumpectomy done on wednesday, waiting for results now. Still in total shock about it all and still find myself crying alot- carn't believe it is happening to me, don't know if it has spread or anything yet - this is the worst time of my life. I don't know anyone who has breast cancer so finding this site has been a god send. Mel x
Thank you both Val and Beardie for your replys- I have found this website a lifeline of support and though have a great lot of family and friends support, its good to talk to people going through the same as you really know how i feel no matter what stage of this - Val you are ahead of me being dx in 2006 and Beardie though behind me as i had my op 3 weeks ago today, I will be behind you with support as much as you need. I had my op in Telford and my treatment is at RSH. I would love to pm both of you if thats ok or you can pm me anytime. Thank you Val re lunch and offer to talk that would be great! I have so many questions at what happens next plus i have lots of answers and thoughts to share with you Beardie at the stage you are at now.

Hi Silvershar
I am waiting for my first chemo to start at RSH on Friday 15 April 6 x Fec so just trying to get eveerything organised. Did you have a long wait for chemo to start - I have, 10 1/2 weeks from my original lumpectomy - not happy. BCN keeps telling me to complain but as she says it won't do me any good but may help some one else- not impressed at all by the treatment I have had. How have you found it - only good part was i saw a good oncologist who seemed really enthusiastic and explained everything in such detail. Melx

Hiya
I am happy to co ordinate or go along with those who have already met up. Where would we think of as being 'central'
rhian x
Hi, glad more of us are near to each other, good point as to where would be central, I live 20 miles from Shrews, 20 from Chester, where I live is actually on the border of Shrops, Cheshire and Wales. Kinda comforting to know we not too far away from each other if u see what i mean. xxxxx Im having my FEC2 tomorrow, postposed from Friday cos I got sick at the hospital.. xxxx keep posting and hope we can all meet soon xxx
hope all goes well tomorrow Shar
Take care Terri
good luck today Shar
re a meet up , would everyone be driving ?
do you want a town location or a country hotel /bar/bistro/restaurant
xx
hi
i would be driving don't mind where we meet, some where with a car park might be good as some of us are not 100%.
sooner the better for me
Terri
Hi
I have looke at the map and Oswestry looks sort of central. There are a couple of places there is one with car park/bar/restaurant called Sweeney Hall if it was a mid week meet up it would be fairly quiet I think. There are places further north, or east.
rhian x
Please keep me in the loop for this meet up-I'd love to come.Oswestry would be fine-I live midway between Whitchurch and Shrewsbury.
Good Luck today Silvershar.
Valxx
hi
Oswestry would be fine for me, Sweeny Hall looks good on the net, don't know what people want to do but they do a special lunch on Mondays 2 courses for £10.00.
