Where about's are you?
Colette
Hi ladies
I'm in gravesend - someones got to live here, lol
Xx
Should have saved the link - took me ages to find it again!
Gravesend? We are nearly neighbours! What hospital are you under?
x
I live in Whitstable and finished my treatment nearly two years ago at Canterbury (KCH)
There is a group who meet in Maidstone but I never ever got there despite invitations!
East coast links were very poor when I was going through my treatment. Felt very alone!!!
Hi Girls
I am Bexleyheath!!!!!

HI im Folkestone Kent and newly diagnosed grade 2 starting chemo 29th dec.
Hi All,
I'm in Swanley, so not far from a few of you. I would be at Darent Valley, but have private healthcare through work so am being treated at Fawkham Manor. Still seeing the same surgeon/oncologist, just in slightly nicer surroundings!
What stage are you all at with your journey?
Alison
Hi All,
There are quite a few of us local, perhaps we should meet up in the New Year.
Alison - I was lucky to have private cover too, I had chemo at Chelsfield Park and my operations at Sloane.
I finished my treatment April this year and went back to work in May after 7 months off!.
How are you all getting on with treatment?
Julie

Hi all,
There are quiet a lot of us that are local to each other. Juro I think a meet would be nice.
Has anyone put their name down for the Look Good Feel Better sessions at Maidstone? I called them a couple of weeks ago, and they are fully booked until March#1 However due to high demand they are going to put on some more dates in Jan and Feb and contact people in the New Year.
Alison I am at Queen Marys, but have a friend who is further down the road on her Journey, she is at Darenth.
I was dx 13th Oct, MX 26th Oct, no rads 6 x FEC. Had my first chemo 2nd Dec and 2nd is due 23rd.
How far along the road are all you other lovely ladies?
Colette x
Hi again,
I wondered about the LGFB sessions, but as my eyelashes and eyebrows are just about intact I didn't know how much I would get out of it. I'm not one for wearing make-up or having a beauty regime, more a get up and go type of girl (or as the case is now, get up and move to the sofa!).
I was diagnosed in March, had a lumpectomy and SNB, followed by 2 re-excisions. They still didn't get clear enough margins, so I was told I'd need a mx. I had 6 rounds of chemo (very similar to FEC-T but slightly different for the first 3 as I'm private) and had my mx on 12/12. I had immediate reconstruction with strattice and a permanent expander implant. At the moment it's still very sore if I try and move too much so I'm taking it easy (read bored). Just thankful my toddler seems to understand that Mummy cannot be used as a climbing frame for the time being!
Would love to meet some others and share experiences/moans etc.
Alison
Hello Kentish Ladies
I would be interested in a meet up in the NY, would be nice to find other local ladies that are going through this to compare notes with / tips advice!
Alison I would love to hear how you are getting on after your recon. 12th Dec that is only this week! How are you feeling / coping etc. I hope you are not to uncomfortable, especially with a toddler!
Sozza, you must be very local to me, I am near Hall Place?
Eviesnan, good luck for the 29th - the fear of the unknown is much worse than the reality
Good night ladies, sleep well x
Hello everyone - I live in Dartford with my partner and two Jack Russells - so quite close to some of you. I was diagnosed (2nd time!) end of October and had mastectomy on 9 November. Am waiting on appointment with oncologist to see what further treatment I need. I'd love to meet up in the NY to have a chat with fellow survivors!
Hiya kentish girlies
Ooops i forgot i started this pmsl!
I'll be at darenth for my treatment which i finally found out today withh be on 10th Jan - ive waited 6 weeks and a day just for the appointment! I think they screwed up and lost me somewhere along the line so im not too impressed really!
Anyway, yes a meet sounds pretty cool as we are all nearish
my treatment is going to be as follows :- 3 x fec, 3 x tax, 3 1/2 weeks of rads in maidstone after that lot, followed by a nice dose of herceptin for eith 6 or 12 months and then 5 years of tamoxifen! lol. how many drugs? gotta laugh or i'll cry!!

Well i start my FEC on 10th Jan - wondering if i can be so cock sure about being ok for a meet, lol? im generally a pretty pessimistic person but also strong and stubborn, which is the side of me I want to pull me thru this!
How has everyone else been feeling on chemo?
xx
Hi
I was getting so excited when the suggestion was made lets meet up in NY....I thought New York.....wahoo I'd be up for that.... then I remembered I had chemo brain and it wasn't New York LOL!
I'm 39 (still 24 ish with chemo brain) and I live in Crayford with 2 small children and a patient husband. I have lots of friends and family around for support however lack other baldies in my life. I've had 3 cycles of FEC T (still think of Father Ted when I say that) and I've just had my 2nd cycle of Tax. 1 more to go. Then surgery. I'm being treated at Darent Valley who have been superb.
I would like to meet others in the same position and can wear a red rose in my label to identify myself....either that or I'm the one who looks like gollum from Lord of the Rings xx
mwahahahaha @ New York! That was quite funny Twinkle - still got your sense of humour then ~
Im going to be treated at Darenth too, im 40 ( shhh 41 on 22 jan)
Had my surgery on 19 oct and node and margin clearance on 15 nov,but been waiting 6 weeks for darenth to pull their fingers out from wherever theyve been and give me an onc app! which i had on 21st dec finally, muga scan on 23rd, bone scan today.............looks like we are rock n rolling since i saw onc in maidstone thou.
My two children are 18 and almost 15, which has been easier.
Roses too expensive! lol, lets go with a pink carnation- cheap n cheerful
xx
Hi Girls
A meet up would be great, I guess someone just has to suggest where and when!
Collette, we are practically neighbours, I live in Northumberland Heath!
I was diagnosed at Queen Marys on 23rd June.
I had a really large lump which appeared overnight.
Originally I was told that it was non invasive and would only need a mastectomy (ONLY!) I was euphoric!!
Unfortunately when I had my op they also discovered 1.4cm of invasive.
Luckily I had no vascular or node involvement.
I am having my 5th Fec next week , then only one more to go.
I don't need rads.
In March I am having my other boob lifted cos at no my recon is like a 20 year olds and the other side is like a 40 year olds!
I too am private through hubbys work. Chemo is at Blackheath and op was at East Grinstead.
Any ideas for where to meet? I know some of us are very near each other but others are a bit further a field.
Speak soon

Morning girlies
I am def interested and I'm in Gravesend
xx
Well after having my mastectomy on 9 Nov I am still waiting for oncologist appointment but after reading previous comments it looks like I'll be joining the waiting game!
Still defo up for a meeting though!
Hi Everyone decided to take the bull by the horns!! I and a fab friend run a Healing Centre in Harrietsham nr Maidstone, (just off junction 8 of M20) I set it up after I was diagnosed and still in early stages!! I am determined to do something to make sense of all this!! So girls I am very happy to host, provide tea and gin for a meet at the Healing House!! We can chat, laugh, booze, drink tea and just meet, I am a year on and like you all been there and got the T shirt or atleast getting it. How about Wednesday 1st Feb morning or 3rd Feb morning? If you can't do those dates perhaps you could suggest when would suit I can do evenings and weekends if thats better, let me know, just thought we could do with starting somewhere!!! Love to you all and wait to hear.XXX
Hi Ladies,
Hope you are all doing ok.
I'm definitely up for a meet. 1st Feb is good for me, 3rd maybe not as it's my birthday on the 2nd and I'm hoping to go away for a long weekend, but if I don't I'll have my little boy to look after anyway. I don't mind where as I'm happy to drive - also happy to give anyone a lift if it helps and they are nearby / on the way. Only other place I could think of for a meet was Bluewater as most people know where it is and there are plenty of coffee shops etc. but just as happy to go with the healing centre suggestion.
Hopefully see you soon,
Alison xx
