How rare? .The statistics say that out of every 100 breast cancer cases, 1 will be male.

To me, that is not as rare as many people say. If you pick up a medical book or see an article on breast cancer in the paper, the only mention of men getting breast cancer is something like \"Men can get breast cancer, but it is rare\"
Someone reading that would think that it was not worth worrying about. If I had read that before getting breast cancer myself, I would have thought that it was very unlikely that I would find myself with it, ending up with having a mammogram and mastectomy.

It would be more helpful to say that it is rare in men, compared with the number of women who have it, but about 250 men a year get it in the UK, and treatment is mainly the same as in women. That way there might be more men and their partners who look out for breast cancer in men
