Cancerbridge Hexham closed down Whilst this may not affect many of you directly, I am sure that all of us who use or would like to use cancer-specific services, including the full range of complementary and exercise therapies, will be concerned to hear that an excellent resource - Cancerbridge- has just had to close down due to funding no longer being made available.
Cancerbridge offered, free, a superb range of individual therapies, plus group therapies, also advice, information, and counselling - just for cancer patients. In practice many of the people using the service, I have been told, were women with bc (so many of us), and it seems to me that in a country where the incidence of bc is so very high that it is a bad sign when a specialised service such as this closes because we (society) won\'t fund it.
Is anyone else aware of other services for us being cut back ?

NEsupport I wasn\'t aware of the closure of the Hexham group - in fact I was given details fo how to contact it 3 weeks ago (just before I had my op).
I don\'t live that close to Hexham but had thought to get in touch sometime during my recovery because it was the only one that seemd to include a wide range of things.
I get the distinct impression that the NE is seriously lacking in support groups. The only ones I know are at Rake Lane and the Marie Curie center. Next nearest seem to be Cleveland which is about 40 miles from me.
But what do we do about it?
