CBT
Since being dx with bc last year, undergoing mx, anc, and reconstruction, then a very traumatic 6 months chemo. Also having the brca test, and a long wait, still waiting. Starting tamoxifem, suffering with planter faciitus, and severe cording in armpit and now my new boob. There is really no wonder my head feels like it up my bum. I didnt ever feel like i would be normal again.
Anyway just to say i was asked by my bcn if i was interested in doing a course of cbt with her. I'd never heard of it before, and me being sceptical, didnt think it was for me. But i thought hey ho, i had nothing to lose. Now 8 weeks later, of 1 weekly hour sessions, i feel like a different person.
So is anyone is feeling like this, please dont keep it all to your self, whether its cbt or any other counselling, go for it.

what is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It's a "talking therapy" where you deal with your problems by talking them through with a counsellor to gain better understanding, rather than taking drugs.
AH I see thank you i do know what you mean just didnt register the abreviation.
Hi I'm new to the group, have been visiting now & again, first time I have postd.
I 2 am having CBT, mine is for a megga needle phobia, which got worse since all the chemo.
Althou its for the phobia, I've had a lot going on besided the BC, I've had my closest friend very ill in hospital for 7 months, & has since died ( Not cancer) & the CBT has helped me a lot.
I found out about it through a leaflet "Fear Fighter" at the GP's & got recomended through the GP. Had to wait a while for a space, but worth the wait.
