Hi Laura,
My onc told me to have any dental work done prior to chemo. I would put my foot down and told him you can't have the everything done just now. In any case I would not thnik that going to the Marsden to see a dentist during chemo would forfeit your nhs dentist.
Hi thanks I forgot to say I'm on chemo already xeloda and if it works might be on it a while so I will need the work done in the end I'm waiting for them to call me tomorrow and I will have my say see what they say
Hi,
I had 3 fillings done and a lengthy root canal cleansing (think that's what they call it), which lasted several months due to complications. It was a bit of a nightmare. All done during different chemos and zometa (the must be careful for any dental work). Everything was done at the dental hospital rather than the local dentist just in case of emergency.
Make sure your onc knows the procedure and declare all medication you are on to your dentist.
Hope it helps.
