DITI - Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging
Has anyone had this? I understand that it can detect changes at a very early stage.
It took 3 trips with mammograms and scans before my tumour was found and confirmed by biopsy. I had a slight puckering/dint above my nipple and was refered by my GP nearly 5 years before I was finally dx with IDC that was grade 3 with vascular invasion and areas of dcis.
Have found a new lump which is teeny weeny, nothing showed on the ultra sound scan but a very fine, slightly whiter, area, however it's new for me and is still there. Because of what happened last time and because the radiographer told me to keep an eye on it I'm wondering if I should go for a baseline DITI now and then again in 3 months.
Thought I'd bring it up with my lovely Consultant when I see him in Dec (he has put me back on 12 week checkups as my mammogram looked a bit different but he thinks it's scar tissue..)
I'm not in a panic as am being watched closely but as I've now heard about this new thing wondered if it was of any use and also if any one has had it done on the nhs as there is a cost involved.
Thankyou
