Evelyn Lauder, founder of pink ribbon campaign, dies
Evelyn Lauder, daughter-in-law of Estee Lauder, has died. She had BC herself when younger, and founded the Breast Cancer Research Foundation which has raised $330 million, and has also helped to establish the Breast Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
I remember reading an article about her in a magazine while I was sitting in the chemo suite at hospital back in 2007. Her foundation had established, through research, that a healthy diet (lots of fruit & vegetables) plus exercise helped to reduce the risk of reccurence. At that time most other research was directed towards treatment regimes rather than lifestyle.

RIP Evelyn - you did a lot to help us!
