Help required Hi Guys,
A friend of mine has just told me that her husband has a swollen nipple area. He has been to seen by his GP, but was told it was nothing. Apparently, this swelling has been getting bigger over the past few months, although there is not defined lump. He has no discharge from the nipple, but he thinks it does feel a little \'warmer\' than the other nipple.
How did your cancers manifest themselves, a lump, swelling or something else?
All info greatly received.
Love Flora,
ps He is going to contact his GP again after Xmas.
Don\'t know if this is a help Flora - have you checked the Men with Breast Cancer information on this site - it is downloadable to pass on to your friend.
I myself had a lump about the size of a 10pence piece toward the bottom of my breast area - I too was told it was nothing to worry about - but I was refered to the hospital - some 10 or 11 weeks later - I was given the news that I had Breast Cancer - December 19th 2003

A lump I had a lump just below the nipple, the size of half a pea.
No one can tell your friend about it, except the doctor, so I cannot say what it is. He would be wise to ask the doc to send him to the breast clinic for a check up.
I would not have described my symptoms as a swelling, it was definitely a lump, and it did not feel any different from normal, no pain, or extra heat compared to the other side.
Let us know how he gets on after Christmas.
David
--- Hi Flora
Mine was a rounded lump just left of the nipple too. I haven\'t read anything that suggests the entire breast area gets inflammed - but Davids advice is good, please make sure he keeps an eye on it and returns to see his Doc.
Hope all turns out well and keep looking on the bright side.
Regards
Brian
A lump as well ---Hi Flora
I had a lump as well, to the inside of my right nipple. But I had terrible itching of both nipples at the same time.
Hope your fiend is OK. He must get it sorted out at the doctor.
All the best to you and yours.
