Linking policy consultation
Dear all,
Over a year ago, we applied our website linking policy to our forums restricting links to the websites of recognised registered charities or relevant partners.
On our new website, we want to give our community of users as much help and information as possible and we've decided to review our linking policy.
On the information pages of the website, we will keep the existing policy and only link to official and recognised sources. However, we feel we should have a more flexible approach on the forums.
We would appreciate your views on the following:
We won't allow links to:
websites with unproven information
any sort of sales pitch
unsolicited research
fundraising asks
private sites
sites that can't be checked by our team
We may allow links to:
blogs relating personal experience of (breast) cancer
specialist shops recommended by registered users
support group websites
other sites that may be of benefits to our users
Our team of hosts will check links posted on the forums and will decide if the links should be allowed or not.
And of course a link on the Breast Cancer Care forums doesn't mean that we endorse or support the site being linked to.
We would appreciate your views before making this policy official.
Thanks,
Bertie

Sounds like a sensible policy and one that I would welcome.
eg: I only found out about the specialist supplier Bohemia Fashions (hats/scarves/false fringes) from trawling through existing threads - it would have been handy to be able to access a list of such companies recommended by other users. So there's my nomination for the 'helpful sites' list for you!
regards
Rosie
Hi Bertie
I agree it sounds a sensible policy. My nomination would be http://www.headcovers.com Also the LookGoodFeelBetter site. We used to try all sorts of ways to get round the old policy!
Cheers
