Hi
I saw my breast consultant today and had a breast exam etc. I finished chemo in august and radiotherpy last week. He said that he would see me again in 3 months but i wouldn't have my first mammogram then which would be a year after diagnosis aS it was too close to the radiotherapy finishing and i would have it later.
Is that normal ? i don't want to wait and expected to have my first mammogram roughly 12 months after diagnosis.
Don't know what to do now

Hi Beardie
I finished my rads last March & had first mammo 12 months after dx last Thursday.
As you only finished your rads last week you are still cooking and then need time for all to settle; so it could be more to do with this.
Why not give your BCN a call to confirm and settle your concerns.
Take care
Lynne
Thank you Lynne - think i will contact my BCN and see what she says

I'm a four yr girl and mine have all been annually from dx. My friend who shared the same consultant was told by him they don't like doing them more frequently as they have a culminating effect. Swapped surgeon in march as had an awkward partial recon with ld flap to do said the exact same thing hope this helps. Blessing
