Message for Sarah122 Hi Sarah
I\'ve just seen one of your postings and wanted to say \"hello\" as I noticed you are living in Callander. I live at Loch Tay - 3 miles north of Killin. I visit Callander a lot as I have an Aunt in Ashlea Nursing Home in Bracklinn Road.
As for my cancer, I\'ve had a very bad deal. Won\'t bore you with the details - my profile has some of it. I\'ve needed everything (chemo, rads and tamoxifen). Also because of the medical negligence my mental state is poor. I\'ve needed lots of support - still go to the Maggie Centre in Glasgow and have therapies from Tak Tent at Gartnavel. However, its not all doom and gloom. I\'ve educated myself with knowledge of my cancer, taken on a whole new look on food, juicing etc, enjoy lots of different types of therapies and have a wonderful circle of friends.
If you ever feel like meeting for a chat, please feel free to contact me.
Regards.
Jeannie
Hello Jeannie Hi Jeannie
I am so sorry to hear what a bad year you have had.I like you had a hard time convincing my gp I needed to go to the breast clinic, but for me ,I had no spread to nodes .
I also moved this year to Stronachlachar ,so I have been busy with decorating etc.
I would love to meet for a coffee [if you still drink it] and a chat
Love
Sarah
Sarah Hi Sarah
Good to hear from you. It gets me very annoyed when I hear what power GPs have in relation to not referring. I am working with the Scottish Breast Cancer Campaign in the hope of getting armpit lumps into the SIGN guidelines as something for referral. I have also brought it to their attention that women under 50 can sometimes have a hard time getting referred. I tried three times and failed. Perhaps you would be interested in filling in the SBCC questionnaire as the more women they know about with problems re referral the more likely something can be done for the future.
I\'m off to Malta for a week on Friday. It would be good to meet up on my return. What about the Atrium coffee shop in Caledonian Countrywear? I will leave it for you to suggest a day as you may be a bit busy before Christmas.
Cheers for now.
