Thank you Leah, I find that sort of information really interesting. (I'm just itching to ask you other stats but I would only be pandering to my own anorakishness.)
Interestingly, reading the number 2 thread made me realise the total worth of these forums and joined the no 1 thread crowd (although I don't post often, I do read it lots - I just cant keep up now I am back to work part time.
Congrats to all in both threads!
Lots of love
SJ xx
Hi Leah,
Thats interesting lol, youve got me thinking now so i was wondering if BCC know what is the "longest" ever running thread on the forums?, the ones i was thinking was maybe "Wind" started by Kelly in 2007 or maybe the secondries "Gormless thread"? both fantastic threads that members still post on today . would be great to find out!

Thats really interesting and im so glad to have been part of the pink road of chemo thread from the begining.I feel very close and protective of all the girls on there and just hope that I helped in some small way to get them along that pink road as all but a few now are finishing their treatments and Iam sure will continue to help others just starting out on their journey.Big hugs to you all pinkies xxxxxxmwah Julie
Yes, really interesting to read. I joined the Stormriders thread way back at the start of my treatment and I think it should be listed as a 'treatment' for the help it gave me - thank you BCC, the one good thing from all this is the fabulous friends made along the way.
Anyone newly diagnosed with bone mets would find a wealth of information and support on the bone-mets-please-join-in thread..
And as a contributor to the gormless thread cornishgirl mentions, I can only say it's a lovely thread which shows us mets girls can still enjoy life, have a sense of fun after our stage 4 diagnosis.

Glad you found it interesting! There probably are other stats I could find - some of them might be easier to find than others, but do feel free to ask... Happy to pander to your inner anorak ChoccieMuffin!
The longest running thread might be tricky to define, as threads often go quiet for a while and then spring back to life some months later. But the "wind" thread has got to be a competitor for that crown, certainly... That one was started in August 2007 (here http://bcc.cx/farAgp in case anyone hasn't discovered it yet) - can anyone beat that for a currently active thread?
Sadly, Leah, the WIND!!!! thread will ALWAYS be active as long as our bums are!
I'd be interested to see how many active posters there are, is there an average length of time that posters remain active, what thread has the most posts, oh dear now you've got me started but I won't expect you to do too much playing around with stats, we've seen from other posts today what dangerous things stats can be if misused. And you are very naughty for pandering to my inner anorak, it really does need to be kept well in check and NOT encouraged to come out too play too often.
i think all threads are winners, but i have to say as the founder member of pink road, im just so thank full to BCC and the many ladies on here.. It wouldnt have been possible without u. xx
i feel like ive won an oscar!!!
you have all made my journey so much easier. xxx and special thanx to Jules, our queenie, u have helped us all so much. thank you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I think your inner anorak should be encouraged, CM - not least because satisfies mine! Thanks, Leah.
Belinda, I suspect that there are many of us who aren't mets girls but who love your gormless thread and who are peeping in whenever we see it listed.
Eliza xx
I too would like to know what is the average time a poster stays active??!!?
And....how many active participants are there at present?
I am always amazed at how many BC women I come across at my support group who've never ever heard of this site!
I only discovered it after my third round of surgery and it has been an absolute lifeline ever since!
Thank you BCC and all the generous women who post here.
You are the VERY BEST!
I do love a statistic!
And I never thought about wearing an anorak!!?!!
Wx
Thank you Eliza.
It's nice to know it's read by many. x
Hi all
I hope you've all got your stats anoraks on! I promised some more stats...
Some of you wondered how long people usually stay active on the forum, and I'm afraid that's not an easy statistic to gather (for example, people often stop using the forum for quite a while but then come back months or years later, for example in the run-up to a significant date, or a scan, or something else that has brought up worries or concerns).
In terms of active users, at the moment nearly 1700 people have logged in to the forum in the past 30 days and that seems to be about the average - although it includes a few days when the forums were offline. Compare this to the nearly 58,000 visitors to the forum pages who have not logged in during the same period. In the last 30 days there were nearly 600 new posts every day.
Hope that's interesting for you...
Leah
Another stat request, if you have that information.
Do you gather info on the ages of people who register? I can't remember if that's something that is asked for. It would be interesting to see the spread of ages, so for example how many are under 30, in their 30s, 40s, etc.
No, ChoccieMuffin, at the moment, we don't ask for that info when people register so we don't have those stats either. Sorry!
all very interesting, shows just how valuable this forum is to helping people. . .
i know i for one could not have got through the last 6 months if it wasnt for bcc and the many ladies who post. xxx
