Need some advice please Hello ladies, and Gents
Can anyone help me with Tumour markers? CEA, CA125 CA15.3? I had these done last Nov and I\'ve just been for my check up here in France and the Onc says I am fine - having just listened to my chest, had a poke about and looked at me. My Onc in UK whom I still email with details etc. tells me I should be having the tumour marker tests again. Should I have these every year, or more? Very confused as I think I want to know what\'s going on, but don\'t, and I hate the tests, so am now worried esp. as I\'ve had pains in my chest - like someone sitting on me - and sharp stabbing pains in my armpit. What to do? I can insist on the tests of course, but don\'t want to over-ride the Onc here, that seems rather rude!!
Other than that, am in good health and training for the Paris Marathon....!!
Thanks in anticipation
Karen
Tumour markers are far more usual in the US. Try posting your query on breastcancer.org or bcmets.org . There are sure to be people there who will have good advice. I\'ve never had tumour markers done and have frankly never felt the need.
Help and Advice Hi Karen,
As you are in France it may help you if you would like to contact the Ask the Nurse Service to try and help with some of your concerns.
