Nutrition - dietician
Hello,
Nutrition is very important for cancer patients and many studies show an improved survival thanks to the help of a registered dietitian for cancer patients. (1)
He can help us before during and after the treatment. Also to reduce and / or manage side effects.
Thanks to his advises you will also be able to eat healthy on the long time going after the end fo the treatment.
Of cours thes registered dietitian has to collaborate with you oncologist and know well oncology. (you must also tell your team about the tratments for other ilnesses than cancer you're taking on the same time)
It's higly advised to collaborate with the dietitian right after the diagnosis. He will also tell you haw to cook and which food to eat if you have a weak imune system
Have a nice day
Sylvana
PS : Sorry for my english it's not my native language
This registered dietician has to be serious and to take a long time with your during the consultation.
(1) Ask your oncologist to advise you a good one that knows well oncology. And insist because it's very important to have nutrition advises because it increases the survival and the quality of life

Of course thanks to his advises you will also be able to eat healthy all your live after the end fo the treatment.
XXXXXX
A last notice : Ask your oncologist to advise you a good one that knows well oncology. And insist because it's very important to have nutrition advises because it increases the survival and the quality of life (in many studies).
Hi,
I wish everyone a happy new year 2012 ;o)
Sylvana
HI Sylvana,http://foodforbreastcancer.com/ avey good site to research diet and breast cancer
up
They will also help you to avoid infections if your immune system is weak and tell you how to cook your food to kill all the bacterias
Thanks sivam.
I also have another information.
Hi,
I read 2 studies regarding breast cancer and diet
They show that if these women maintain a good weight by making sport and having an healthy diet (with the advise of the registered dietitian)(1) without too much fat, the relapse rate was lower.
But as always the content of my message is not a medical advise , just an information I read. Always ask your medical team (onco and reg dietitian) before doing anything
Have a nice day
(1) don't make a diet by yourself
I looken further on the Web. On of the studies has been published on the Journal of clinical oncology and seems to be serious.
Wen I talkes aboutgood weihgt, ask your medical team what is a good weight for you before during and after the treatment. According to the study the best results were obtained with women who were neither skinny (it' was better to have a Body mass Index which is not inferior than 20) but not to fat (it was better to have a Body MAss Index which is not superior to a limit number too)
But as I say ask your team, I am not a doctor
