Phyllodes tumours - how often are they malignant? What are the \"signs\" of malignancy?

How often are they malignant?

I understand from my consultant that I have a \"rare\" sort of tumour, but it seems more frequent the more i read. Does he (or anyone) out there really know what they are dealing with?

Mine, assuming it was what they suspected, was removed 5th Sept and my consultant STILL has not called me to advise of his findings.

His secretary hasnt even called me back

The growth had doubled in size in the 3 weeks between core biopsy/scan and the surgery, so I am fearing the worst.

Why wont he tell me whats going on?! I am utterly cr*pping myself!

I guess i would like to know IS the possibility of the tumour I had being malignant a REAL possibility, or am I just working myself up into a sleep deprived and hormonal frenzy?

Beccles x
