Please sign my petition - NHS funding for Cyberknife now.
I am petitioning to end The South East Coast Specialist Commissioning Groups blanket ban on funding Cyberknife. The SECSCG consider funding applications for specialist treatments like Cyberknfe on behalf of PCT's in Surrey, Sussex and Kent.
One Senior Harley Street Oncologist wrote about Cyberknife in the Daily Mail. He said that every now and then, cancer treatment takes a massive leap forward, and Cyberknife stereotactic radiotherapy is one of those leaps.
Mount Vernon NHS Hospital now have Cyberknife and have started accepting patients. Similaarly, The Royal Marsden, London, St James, Leeds and Derrisford Hospital, Plymouth have purchased Cyberknife and will start accepting patients later this year (the devlopment of Cyberknife at Plymouth was only announced on 3rd December 2010). It is therefore a complete waste of NHS resources, if PCT's refuse to fund patients to use this facility.
Please, please, go to the link below, sign my petition, and if possible write to your MP.

Done. I read about cyberknife and was extremely impressed - surely this is the way to go for cancer treatment!
Done. I hope it will be available to all of us should we be unfortunate enough to need it. It would make a huge difference to lives and prognoses.
Done - thanks Lemongrove.

Done Lemongrove,
I am lucky enough to have been treated by St James in Leeds (chemo & rads) who will have their machine up and running later this year, but feel it should be available to EVERYONE and ANYONE who needs this treatment !!!
