Ok - knees and elbows are killing me this morning, and brain is mega foggy. I know joint pain is all part of the Anastrozole - but brain fog? Anyone had this - and are there any tricks that can help?

I've been on Arimidex now for 3 years and had all sorts of side effects, especially joint pain and weakness. Also very emotional and thin hair and dry skin etc. I have also noticed this foggy feeling in my brain. Sometimes worse than others. I try to form a thought or question in my mind and it just disappears. I'm not very good at concentrating either. I've wondered whether it's because of medication but my oncologist tends to be a bit dismissive so I haven't been able to ask. I get the feeling the doctors try to play down the side effects. Maybe it's just me getting more daft and nothing to do with Arimidex! x
Arimidex works by stopping one route of your natural production of oestrogen (not the oestrogen produced by ovaries, but under your skin). So basically you can get any symptoms that are menopausal - and brain fog is one that is often complained of...
I can't offer any tips - apart from writing notes/lists which is what I do for my chemo fog - but at least the side effects show that it is working so I hope that is a comfort of sorts.

Has anyone had any unexplained bruising as a side effect of taking Tamoxifen? I have been on it for 2 years. I have bruising on my thighs which started 2 months ago. I get an itch I scratch it and then I have a bruise. I have blood tests done and they are ok. It's very odd.
Hi, not sure if this is a similar thing but I find that I bruise very easily and it takes ages for a bruise to go away, bit of a problem seeing as I am so clumsy these days and am not sure if this is just part of getting older or as a result of treatments (chemo, rads and 3 years of Tamox)
