Should I contact my consultant?
I'm not quite sure what to do re continuing problems with my LD arm. I had a suspected infection in my hand in the summer. I had pain in my little finger joint and mild swelling. Two courses os antibiotics and two weeks of MLD did not really help so now I'm thinking it probably wasn't an infection. The pain is now a lot better but is still there from time to time.
However, I have now developed a pain in my shoulder! It started about a month ago and initially I thought I had just slept in an awkward position. However, it has continued but there is no evidence of swelling or redness.
I'm not sure whether these pains are linked to my surgery or not and my lymph nurse is none the wiser. I thought I should maybe go and see my consultant (BC surgeon) to see if he has any thoughts. Do you think that's a good idea or would I be better to see my GP? Any ideas appreciated!

If you can go directly to your surgeon I think that would be the best option. He can,t say you are panicing if it has been there for a month with no improvement. Better safe than regretful later. He is the only one really who can either sort it out or put your mind at rest
Take care
Andie
Hello Hatts,
I agree with Andie that you should get this checked out by your surgeon as soon as you can. The pain has been going on for long enough to warrant some investigation. Hope you get answers and relief very soon. Take care, Angelfalls xx
hiya hatts
i agree with the others - if it's all been going on for ages it needs checking out
it could all be coincidental - i've got coinicdental frozen shoulder & bruised ribs from falling out of bed! - but you want some reasonable explanation if poss
might be worth seeing the physio - most bcc's have a specialist physio who might have some ideas about what's going on
good luck - meanwhile, keep popping the pills
Thanks everyone. I appreciate your advice. Hope everything heals soon norberte!
