Just a little note to say I heard from my latest CT my chemo, Capecitabine, is still holding my mets stable after three and a half years of continuous cycles. I'm just so, so grateful for the time I've had with this chemo. Wishing you all long periods of stability with your treatments..x

That's great to hear Belinda; thanks for letting us know.
Saw your post on bone mets thread and glad to see you posing here too, we all need good stories to see us through and give us cheer! Well done - really happy for you!
Lots of love Julie xx
Thanks everyone for your kindness.
Hi Sadie I'm not trip neg..I'm er+ and her2-..I was diagnosed stage 4 from the very beginning, in 2003. I had a spontaneous hip fracture. Onc and myself thought hormones had been exhausted after 18 months + of Tamoxifen and then 3 and a half years + of Arimidex. I had a short while of Aromasin which didn't work so it's chemo for me from now on. I know it's a much harder road for tnbc not having so many options. I often read Gingerbud's, Tina's (waves) lovely supportive thread to keep up with everyone's news here.
I do hope we can all have long periods of some peaceful stability on this rollercoaster of a ride.
Good Luck everyone...xxxx
Going off on a tangent but as this is the inspirational forum, last night I watched the 2nd airing of a BBC documentery called 'Alex, a life fast forward.' I've been thinking of Alex all day today. Such a inspirational young man who died from bone cancer at 22. But what a full life he lived for such a brief time.
Hurrah Belinda!
Capecitabine didn't work for me,but navelbine appears to be a bit more hopeful.
X Sarah
Hi Belinda, that's terrific news, I'm so happy for you. Long may it continue!!
I saw that programme about Alex the first time it was on. I had tears in my eyes watching it.
Take care,
Alison x
Thanks for the kind messages.
Yes I had tears in my eyes too Alison.

belinda, thank you for sharing such good news.

Oh Belinda, that's wonderful news.I think of you often as I was originally diagnosed Dec 02 and came on here in 03 so we've both been living with breast cancer a similar length of time.
I saw the first airing of the programme about Alex and it also moved me profoundly. There's also been a recent series probably just on BBC 1 Wales following the lives of several families supported by the Ty Hafan Children's Hospice and the children and their families were just so inspirational and heartwarming. There was one girl with an enormous"bucket list" but has already achieved so many of her aims and is so full of life and wanting to make the most of every day which is now how I try to live my life.
You've been an inspiration to me - I know we don't always like that word but you have always been a stabling presence on here for me so I wish you continued stability.
Anne xx
Hi Nicky and thank you! I don't know if you've started Faslodex yet but I hope you find it to be a great combo for you.x
Hi Anne, lovely to catch up with you. I miss so many of the forum users around at that time, 2003 onwards. I often read old threads and find inspiration from our friends no longer here. x
Great news, Belinda! Gives us all hope. Keep on keeping on! (Thanks - L. Lass!)
Sarah x
Belinda, Great to hear your good news. Long my it continue to work for you. I bet you gave a huge sigh of relief.
I watched the film about Alex a few months ago and I was glad I had the house to myself as I sat and cried listening to a wonderful lad and his amazing family. Gave me a kick up the bum that is sure! For anyone wanting to see it it is still on the BBc Iplayer. Not all sad and I loved the way his pals supported him too. A real inspiration.
On a cheerier note I hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying their weekend. It has been raining here all day so I have made good use of the time and cleared out my clothes and boxed the summer stuff away until next year. sad so sad! Love to all Val
Hi Sarah, thank you, catching up with news on trip neg thread I was sorry to read you've been experiencing some pain...I hope you can get some effective relief and soon. x
Hi Val, yes what an amazing family, what an amazing young wife. I try not to let 'the glooms' rule but Alex and his family were so strong, inspirational. They made such a lasting impression on me.
Hi Belinda, haven't spoken for a while - so glad to respond with big congrats at your lovely news! Long may it continue XX - apart from a bit of increased leg pain, I am keeping well also - see onc in two weeks so am hoping everything is still stable - will have to let you know. Keep well love Deb xx

Oh that's just fabulous news Sadie..I'm SO pleased for you.
xx
PS..yes I'm still stable, just had even better CT results than the ones I posted in October, at the beginning of this thread, thanks to Capecitabine.
Thanks so much for posting this update Belinda. Whenever, I feel a wobbly moment creeping up on me, I think about you, Dawn and Scottishlass. It's not only that you have all defeated the odds, but that the three of you have endured continuous treatment with such grace and resilience.
Sadie - I am thrilled for you, I'm still trying hard to join this 'stable club' my bone mets have stabilized, no change in 18months, but still waiting for the liver and brain to play the game!
Thank you Lemongrove...about to watch you on Youtube.
Nicky I hope you are a stable mable very soon.
Sadie, I have been following your posts on the TN thread, your positive attitude is inspirational. I am so pleased that you are now stable, don't forget to post on the stable mabel thread.
Belinda, again I am very pleased that CT scans show more improvement.
I hope you both stay stable for a long time. New drugs are coming out all the time therefore time is our friend.
Alex
