Hi Lynne
Our helpliners have some information about support groups in different areas throughout the UK,feel free to call them to see if they know of one in your area on 0808 800 6000. Weekdays 9-5 and Sat 9-2.
I am also posting to various further support ideas offered by BCC:

Hi Weight Watcher, I had my treatment at the Derby Royal. I dont think there is any after care treatment there. You can speak to somebody there who will get you an appointment with the Macmillan team, they have a unit at the Royal. I think there is a monthly meeting at the Mackworth Hotel, I think, the hospital has details for that. I do know how your feeling though, I finished treatment just before christmas, and I cried when I had finished. I am still on Arimidex and I have got to see my Oncon in March. I am also waiting for a bone scan which my Gp requested, I know a lot of us feel lost when we dont have the support regually at the hospital.

Hi, I'm being treated (not that chemo seems like a treat!) at Derby Royal. The website for the Derby Breast Cancer support group is http://www.dbcsg.20m.com. I haven't been to any of their meetings as I live in Nottingham and it's a bit far, especially as the monthly meetings have been around the time of chemo.
Hi Lynne
I am about to start chemo at Derby Royal having had mastectomy there in January. Having looked around there is a Derby Support Group, as already stated, who have a set program for the year, listed on the website. They have a talker in and then coffee after to network with others. I am debating whether to go this week as off the top of my head the talk is about carsington water. generally the talks over the year look BC related and should be quite interesting.
I live at Hilton so was thinking about seeing if I can attend Burton support group, if you google them they have a website as well.
Other than these, I don't see that there is much support around here. Quite surprised because it appears at the moment that every other person I talk to knows someone with BC history.

Karen, the chemo nurses are all nice in Derby.
hi karen im going so look out for me,i live in mapperley near ilkeston so not far from you i think.its dr woodings who is my doctor and dr turnbull who are doing the talk but there is always a breasct care nurse there as well to talk to.
