Hi, I'm Scobie. Im new to this website, and I'd love some feedback regarding your experiences of the side-effects of Tamoxifen. I was diagnosed with BC in December, and started Tamoxifen then. However, I began to have bad headaches 8 weeks ago, and the doctor is loathe to change my tablets....has anyone else experienced this same side-effect? Hope to hear your thoughts!
Many thanks

Hi Scobie. I too was dx in December and started tamoxifen 10 weeks ago. I am definitely more "headachey" than before. I had a migraine about a month ago that lasted 3 days and I've never had one last that long before. I am also suffering from fatigue, which is the worst thing for me, as I'm usually very active. There are a number of testimonials on here that say changing brand of tamoxifen can help with side-effects. The favourite one seems to be Nolvadex. Apparently different brands seem to have different ingredients in the coating etc, so switching can make a difference if you're sensitive to a particular ingredient. Doctors can be resistant to changing brands though, as apparently Nolvadex costs considerably more than the generic!

Hi Salopet thanks for replying.Reading through other peoples comments I am thinking of asking my doc.to put me on the 10mg tablets instead of 20mg and take one in morning and one at night to see if it helps. Will try anything for bit of relief. Will let you know if any help.Hope you start feeling less tired soon I like yourself am very active and get frustrated when I run out off "steam"but I just battle on and its not always a good thing to go against your body!Joyce
