We are aware that there are bugs with our online community, and we still working through the bugs list and retrieving missing content. Thank you for your patience.
Why is it so hard to get in to the discussion board now?
Okay this is my second attempt to post this.
Your new front page is very pretty, if you aren't totally fed up with PINK.
However the quick links from that page allow you to do two things easily: neither of which are what I want to do. I don't want to join the forums (I'm already a memeber) and I also don't want to go right back to Getting started.
The page I am having difficulty finding, whichi I would like to get to much more easily, is this one: Forum Index:
http://share.breastcancercare.org.uk/forum/
from which I can easily navigate to my two favourite hang-out zones Lymphoedema, and Employment Travel & Finance, and I like to use that page as I can quickly see the latest posts and topics in those areas. You haven't taken it down, just made it impossible to get to.
Getting there, getting in at all last night, was like a torturous new variant of Mornington Crescent, which I never really got first time round. Why this difficulty took me two attempts to post about, is that once again I found it almost impossible to get to that desired page so I could post the link, I and had to close all my windows and start again.
It seems that the new site has been made very welcoming for newcomers, both to BC and to BCC, which is all well and good, but for those of us on the longer haul who have been around a while, are totally pinked off with breast-cancer and are now dealing with ongoing issues, it seems to have got harder. I think this could easily be rectified with a new link... please??

I love the phrase "pinked off"!!! The only pink and sparkly thing I really took to in my "cancer journey" was sparkling rosé.
It is hard for people outside this world to understand and I feel ungracious to friends who are posting Breast Cancer Awareness stuff but ... I have moments of being throughly Pinked Off!
I have had real problems too getting onto the forums absolutely no access Sunday evening and tried constantly this morning as wanted to wish a friend good luck with her weekly chemo but was unable to access until midday
On being "pinked-off" - I am so glad that Shine half marathon teeshirts are black not pink. We seem to get the double whammy of pink as generic cancer colour and as breast cancer colour ergo we are all going to be cured... as if.
It's not bcc's fault they have landed pink as a colour, and it's good they are responding positively to our pinked-off-ness. I am so not a pink and fluffy girl and bc is so not pink or fluffy.
It's good the forum is back up now, and genuinely sorry for those for whom it was traumatic being unable to read/'talk'. It just shows how good the networking really is that we miss it when it's down.
Off now to be totally non pink!!!
"The only pink and sparkly thing I really took to in my "cancer journey" was sparkling rosé."
Lavender Lassie I just wanted to say that is totally brilliant and really made me smile! I may have to borrow it sometime! xxx
Hi all,
After your comments, we've made a couple of changes to the new website trying to make it easier to get to the forum.
On each page, the "Community" tab in the top menu has a few options within in. Clicking on the word 'Forum' will direct you to the forum homepage, while each of the links under that direct you to a selection categories, including 'latest posts'. We have also included a quick link to the live chat section for Tuesday and Thursday sessions.
We appreciate the feedback on this and will use your views to make necessary adjustments.
Best wishes,
Mike
Well thanks for letting me rant, I'm glad it wasn't just me finding it impossible. Thought I was being really thick.
My next free teeshirt will be a green macmillan one if I make it through the winter. But black suits me too...
I'm up for borrowing the "rosay" too, when I have learnt how to do french accents. Cheers ladies!!
ed to add, Thankyou Mike. Having your friendly face on the welcome page is definitely a good move
Thank you Mike, virtual Mars Bar heading your way
i am such an addict that i have the discussion page as a bookmark so i can go straight to it.
I couldnt even log in this morning. Glad normal is back. I love pink but hate it being related to cancer for me its happy things like my dogs collars, my horses head collars, rugs and jumpers not darn breast cancer.
I just hope that when the forum is updated that the fluffy pink goes. Lilac, turquoise, anything but bleeping pink!!
So, Mike, can you do us a website in balck leather with swirling mists?
You know we love you all, really, we are just such addicts!
And, thanks re the rosé quip. The é is the only accent I can do, hold down Alt Gr (whatever that means) at the same time as the e and Bob's your unclé
Thanks for getting us up and running again Mike and Co -much appreciated!!
Hi Ladies,
Thought it was just me having an airhead 24 hours of frustration being unable to post! Thank goodness it's back to 'normal'. Cant seem to navigate the new site, sticking with Pink! Hope I just managed to post best wishes to Pam going in for op Wednesday. This site is my life saver.
hugs to all
Chrissy
