Worried Hello
I am hoping someone can help me. I have had various problems with my breasts since having my children (I am 33). I have discovered that I have Fibrocystic Breast Disease and have had problems with nipple discharge. Since February of this year I have been experiencing cracks on the base of the nipple. It first appeared in my left breast and when I consulted my GP she gave me some cream. This never helped so I went back and she basically told me that I had a deep crack and because the skin was thin there it would take ages to heal. I am fortunate enough to get my breasts checked 6 monthly by a BUPA nurse, it was at my appointment in July this year when she was examining me and when she was pulling her hand over my right breast she \"tore\" my nipple. She said that it was just probably my skin type (I am fair skined with red hair). However she said it would
be worth mentioning to my GP. Well I was there yesterday because it is getting to me now (to describe its like having paper cuts YUK!). I have been referred to the breast clinic now. I am very worried now and am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.
Thanks for reading this v long post and my best wishes to you all.

For Katie09 Hi Katie
I am sorry to hear you are having so many problems at the moment. Have you considered using BCC\'s Ask the Nurse service or the freefone help line?
For the Ask the Nurse service just follow the links from the left hand side of this page. The help line number is 0808 800 6000 and is available Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturdays 9am - 2pm. Everyone on our helpline either has experience of breast cancer or is a breast care nurse.
The team comes from a variety of backgrounds, so callers get to talk to someone who has an understanding of the issues they’re facing.
I trust this will give you some help and support. I am sure you will also get lots of support from other forum users.
With best wishes
