Leeds Castle Pink Ribbonwalk
Set in 500 acres of beautiful parkland, Leeds Castle, described as ‘The loveliest castle in the world’, is one of the Treasure Houses of England, and is the perfect backdrop for our Pink Ribbonwalk.
The route takes in the very best of the stunning grounds, the surrounding rural Kent countryside and quiet picturesque villages while embracing the fascinating Saxon and Roman history of this area.
20 mile route
Average walking time: 5 to 8 hours walking including rest stops
Our event village, set high above the estate, has fantastic views of the castle and surrounding lakes. From here our walk sets off, we experience the awe-inspiring castle and its moat up close before leaving the estate and heading out into the countryside.
Passing along quiet country lanes and woodland trails we make our way through Chegworth. Onward via the shady, tree-lined King’s Wood we reach the village of Harrietsham and pick up the Pilgrim’s Way. We continue onto the North Down’s Way, passing by the quaint village of Hollingbourne, then through Coombe Wood to bring us back into Harrietsham. We pick up the Greensand Way, studded with apple orchards and ancient ruins, as we return to Leeds Castle Estate.
10 mile route
Average walking time: 2.5 to 4 hours walking including rest stops
The 10 mile route has the same start and finish as the 20 mile, however in King’s Wood where the 20 mile walkers track north to Harrietsham, the 10 mile walkers turn south, also picking up the Greensand Way on our return to Leeds Castle Estate.
5 mile route
Average walking time: 1.5 to 2 hours walking including rest stops
The route has the same beginning and end as the 10 and 20 mile routes, however, after Chegworth, the 5 mile splits from the 10 and 20 mile routes and cuts across towards Broomfield to merge with the other routes as they approach Leeds Castle Estate. Re-entering the estate, we are met by breathtaking views of Leeds Castle and surrounding waters, winding through the private gardens to arrive at the finish.

Parking is available in the grounds of Leeds Castle. Parking directions and a car park pass will be included in your final pack. It would help us if you’re able to share cars to reduce congestion.
This is a countryside walk taking in the very best of Leeds Castle Estate. All three route distances leave the estate and explore surrounding public footpaths, bridleways and roads. Routes are off-road where possible and there will be ascents and descents. You’ll walk on all sorts of terrain including 4x4 tracks, grassy meadows, uneven farmland, single file tracks through farmland and forests, farm lanes and some road sections. While we aim to ensure that the routes are easily accessible, there may be the occasional stile and at times you may walk through taller vegetation, or the paths may narrow due to hedge growth. Depending on the weather some sections may be boggy and slippery and there could be the occasional stream to cross. Please plan your kit and training accordingly.
