Scone Palace Pink Ribbonwalk
Many congratulations from Breast Cancer Care, QVC and woman&home to all our wonderful Scone Palace Pink Ribbonwalkers! It was a wonderful day and we hope that you all enjoyed yourselves. We will be emailing you with an online questionnaire and look forward to your feedback.
In the meantime please email email@example.com if you want to let us know about your experiences on the day or to enquire about next year’s event.
20 mile route
Average walking time: 5 to 8 hours walking including rest stops
From Scone Palace we head to the banks of the River Tay, through Scone Wood and into the village of New Scone. We continue through Muirward Wood towards the idyllic hamlet of St Martin’s. Striding onward along farm tracks, witness excellent views of the Grampian Mountains before arriving in the village of Guildtown. We pick up lush forested trails through Colen Wood before dropping down to the tree-lined banks of the River Tay. We take in stunning views along the river path and pass the historic Waulkmill Old Ferry Station as we proceed onward towards Scone Palace.
10 mile route
Average walking time: 2.5 to 4 hours walking including rest stops
At New Scone where the 20 mile walkers enter Muirward Wood, the 10 mile walkers stride west. The route passes along beautiful open farmland tracks and picturesque cottages before re-joining the 20 mile route on the banks of the River Tay at Waulkmill Old Ferry Station.
5 mile route
Average walking time: 1.5 to 2 hours walking including rest stops
The 5 mile follows a slightly different route then the 10 and 20 mile walks to begin with. We leave Scone Palace and pass through the historic grounds of Perth Racecourse. We pick up the leafy, tree-lined Cambusmichael Road merging with the returning 10 mile route to arrive at Waulkmill Old Ferry Station. All routes follow the stunning riverside path to head back towards Scone Palace and a warm welcome at the finish.
Routes subject to change
The event starts and finishes in the grounds of Scone Palace, 2 miles north of Perth on the A93. From Dundee, Edinburgh or Glasgow, follow the signs for the A93 Braemar.

Parking is available in a designated Pink Ribbonwalk car park in the grounds of Scone Palace. Directions and a car park pass will be provided in your final pack. It would help us if you’re able to share cars to reduce congestion.
This is a countryside walk taking in the very best of Scone Palace estate. All three routes leave the estate and take in the surrounding Perthshire countryside. Routes are off-road where possible and there’ll be ascents and descents, particularly on the 10 and 20 mile routes. You’ll walk on all sorts of terrain including 4x4 tracks through farmland, grassy meadows, narrow paths through woodland, along river banks, farm lanes and roads. While we aim to ensure that the routes are easily accessible, there may be the occasional stile and at times you may walk through taller vegetation, or the paths may narrow due to hedge growth. Depending on the weather some sections may be boggy and slippery and there could be the occasional small stream to cross. Please plan your kit and training accordingly.
