We're evaluating the helpline

In January each year we send out a postal survey to everyone who calls the Helpline so please don’t be surprised if you get asked to participate if you ring in the next few weeks.

We’ve made the survey shorter this year, so it shouldn’t take you long to complete. We send you a freepost envelope to reply and we won’t use details of your address to contact you again unless you’re already on our database for a different reason (such as because you’ve raised funds for us before).

We’re really aware that doing a survey may be the last thing you want to do, particularly if you’re going through a difficult time or coming to terms with a new diagnosis of breast cancer. We sometimes hear from people that they’re overwhelmed with the amount of information they are given and it’s hard to keep track of all the bits of paper, leaflets and booklets. So we understand if you don’t feel able to return the survey, but we really appreciate it if you do.

We use the results in so many ways:

● to feedback to the team about what we’re good at and what needs improving

● to make changes to the service

● to raise awareness of the Helpline

● to retain funding for the Helpline.

It’s important that we hear from people who actually use the service so that we’re making decisions based on solid information. So thank you in advance if you reply to our survey: you are helping us provide the best service we can to the thousands of people who ring us each year.

Thank you so much for the

Thank you so much for the helpline and the lovely lady I spoke to yesterday. It was such a relief to finally talk to someone. I had left it a year of ignoring a lump before pain sent me to the doctors. And I was so worried. I only just found out about your helpline and number this week when googling for the first time and finding some very very helpful info on your site last night. I waited eagerly for 9 am for the line to become open and then called sraight away. I now know what to ask for and expect so will be asking for an urgent breat referal tomorrow.... and am not going to ignore that lump I found a year ago any more. I feel reassured I know what to expect in the next first steps, and that so long as I get myself a referral I don't have to worry too to much about what comes next and fighting to get the right tests because there are breat care units who know what they are doing. I did not really know that. So thanks for talking to me... I'm taking my next steps and following your advise tomorrow. Thanks again. Smile xx
