The Science is Vital petition, currently running at over 33,000 signatories, is part of a campaign to protect significant cuts to scientific funding in the UK.

Alongside engineers and scientists, many research based charities and organisations are in support of the campaign. The campaign is particularly relevant for cancer charities, whether or not their work is research-based. So, whilst Breast Cancer Care's mission is to provide exceptional standards of care, services and resources to all affected by breast cancer, the charity is in support of the research carried out by scientists on the subject.

Continuing to develop better drugs and treatments will affect the lives of many of our users and the funding is essential to the ongoing research community working to continually provide better treatments and cures for those with breast cancer.

You can sign the petition or read more at the Science is Vital website.
