Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big difference
Thursday 13 October is Secondary Breast Cancer Awareness Day and this morning, ahead of the event, we launched a new booklet for people living with a secondary diagnosis.

The little things that make a big difference is a collection of tips written by people with secondary breast cancer about living with a secondary diagnosis. The booklet was the idea of a group of women who’d found information for people with secondary breast cancer hard to come by, and wanted to share the things they’d discovered that could help people in a similar situation.
We launched the book with a reading at Waterstones Piccadilly in London - the largest bookshop in Europe. Actress Hettie Baynes read a selection of the tips for an audience of people with secondary breast cancer, healthcare professionals and journalists. Also speaking at the event was Breast Cancer Care Voice, Emma Freeborn who relayed her experiences of living with secondary breast cancer.
The little things that make a big difference - book launchOn Thursday (13 October), Breast Cancer Care and women living with secondary breast cancer will meet with MPs at Westminster to call on the Government to include in NHS reforms improvements in nursing provision for secondary breast cancer patients. You can take part in our campaigning event at the House of Commons or come along to our awareness day event in Edinburgh.
The special edition booklet is now available to order free from our website.
