Welcome to the online home of Vita. As well as the twice yearly magazine, which you can subscribe to free of charge, you’ll also find a whole host of stories written by and for people affected by breast cancer right here.

You can read about Coral, who has secondary breast cancer and had a long search to find a suitable afro wig, and Donna, who decided to turn the loss of her hair into a positive experience. There’s also Jenny’s story. She talks about how her children reacted to the news that she had breast cancer. Visit the Real Lives section to read more.

Over the coming weeks and months we’ll be adding more stories like theirs to these pages, so keep checking back. And if there’s any aspect of breast cancer and it’s treatment that you’d particularly like us to cover, we’re always interested to hear from you.

Breast Cancer Care has been publishing the magazine Vita since 2006 and we’re now on issue 10. It has changed quite a bit in those 10 issues, as you’ll see if you look at the 10 Vita front covers in the back issues section. We often get requests from people who want to read older issues of Vita and you will find the past four issues here available to download.

I hope you like the new online home of Vita. If you’ve had a personal experience of breast cancer and you’d like to share your story with us then we’d love to hear from you.

I am 43 and I have secondary

I am 43 and I have secondary breast cancer care.  I read my copy of Vita that arrived through my door today but I was particularly moved by Ellies story and I am now glued to her blog.  What an inspirational lady I feel I can relate to so much of her experiences.  In particular the message about getting a second opinion.  I too felt"written off" and I felt so much happier when I changed my consultant and hospital!!  After reading her blog I am encouraged to keep positive and fight this and I don't feel a fool for wanting to continue as normal and work and do active activities when many people think I should "slow down" people who don't really know me that is so thank you breast cancer care.
