Discussing the news that Breast Cancer Care’s Moving Forward service, run in partnership with 70 NHS hospital trusts and health boards across the UK, has been shortlisted for ‘Best Not for Profit Working in Partnership with the NHS’ at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2019, David Crosby, Director of Services and Engagement at Breast Cancer Care, says:

“It’s so exciting that our innovative Moving Forward course1, which has helped thousands of women adapt to life after breast cancer since 2009, has been recognised and shortlisted for this prestigious award.

“Moving Forward is the product of a vast network of extremely hardworking, dedicated people. Healthcare professionals, including breast care teams, dieticians and psychologists, as well as volunteers and NHS decision makers, all help Breast Cancer Care make this life-changing service a reality.

“Around 691,0002 people are alive in the UK after a diagnosis of breast cancer, and the numbers are only set to rise. We will continue working collaboratively with the NHS to support as many women as possible and ensure they don’t face the incredibly daunting transition after treatment ends alone.”
