A new drug to treat secondary breast cancer has been approved for use in the UK.

The drug called T-DM1 or trastuzumab emtansine (brand name Kadcyla) is used to treat a type of secondary breast cancer.

Secondary breast cancer occurs when cancer cells have spread from the breast and grown elsewhere in the body such as the bones.
