Around 690,000 people are currently living with a breast cancer diagnosis in the UK, a number which is increasing every year. It’s thanks to the kindness and generosity of the public that Breast Cancer Care can continue to provide free information and support to anyone affected by breast cancer.
To support our work and help us to continue our services both now and in the future, we are running a campaign to encourage people to support us regularly by signing up to play our Weekly Lottery. We have fundraisers recruiting at locations in London and the South East and the South West region. Fundraisers are recruiting at a variety of venues, including hospitals and supermarkets. The information below explains how this campaign works and the difference regular support through the Weekly Lottery makes. Why are we encouraging people to support the Weekly Lottery?
Regular donations from people supporting us through the Weekly Lottery are very important to Breast Cancer Care as they provide a steady and reliable source of income. Just 1% of our funding has come from government over the past five years, so it's thanks to the ongoing generosity of the public that we can continue to support men, women and families affected by breast cancer, whenever they need us.
Our face-to-face fundraisers always wear authentic Breast Cancer Care clothing and carry identification badges so you can be sure they’re genuine.
All of the fundraisers promoting our Weekly Lottery can be clearly identified as representatives of Breast Cancer Care and wear clothing bearing the charity logo (pink polo shirt/pink vest/pink fleece jacket in colder weather). Their identification badge will always be visible too.

We work closely with professional fundraising agencies to ensure that our representatives adhere to the fundraising regulations and Codes of Practice set out by the Institute of Fundraising and the Fundraising Regulator.
Our fundraisers will never ask for cash, cheque or card donations
The purpose of our face-to-face fundraising campaign is to encourage members of the public to support the work of Breast Cancer Care through regular donations by Direct Debit, which is a safe and convenient method of giving. Fundraisers will never ask for a donation by cash, cheque, or debit/credit card.
Breast Cancer Care will never sell or share the information provided to set up a regular donation
At Breast Cancer Care we take the collection of personal data very seriously, and have measures in place to ensure that the information required to set up a Direct Debit is safe and secure. We fully comply with the rules and principles set out by the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Information Commissioner in relation to the collection and processing of all personal data.
Your details will be kept safe and secure and will never be passed on to any organisation outside Breast Cancer Care. We’ll always ask people if they would be happy to hear from us by email or SMS to find out how their regular gift is making a real difference to our work.
