I was delighted to hear that Breast Cancer Care are pushing for standards for all younger women to get advice about fertility on cancer diagnosis, and there is hope to repeat the survey from 2013 when only 12% of younger women with breast cancer were referred to a fertility clinic from diagnosis.

I joined the forum to meet other nurse specialists involved in supporting patients with secondary breast cancer. The forum is an excellent way of sharing knowledge, expertise, practice and different approaches and ways of practising. Sharing such practice helps to enhance our skills base and improve the care and support we can offer to our patients.

We rely on healthcare professionals to review our patient information. Our reviewers – from breast cancer nurses and oncologists to surgeons and radiographers – help us to ensure our publications and specialist magazines are up to date, accurate and reflect current practice. In return, your contribution can count as evidence towards your NMC revalidation.
